Overprice! Agriculture official serves notice on fertiliser trader

Mysuru: Following the complaints of selling urea fertiliser for more than the prescribed rate, agriculture department officers have served a notice to fertiliser trader at Devithandre village in K R Nagar taluk on October 24.

Assistant Director of Agriculture Department Shashidhar inspected the shop and warned the trader of stringent action.

During the inspection, the officer found that ‘no rate chart was displayed, log book on sold and available stock was not maintained by the vendor’.

The farmers complained to officer that ‘ the urea bag is being sold at Rs 450 against the actual rate of Rs 266’.

The officer has appealed to the farmers to bring to his notice, if the urea is being sold at a different rate in other shops too.
