Mysuru: As the pandemic continues, endangered tribal communities in the region are facing further threats to their survival with hunger and malnutrition being a chronic issue.

As an emergency action We Support Foundation initiated a campaign “Lets Feed Hungry Stomachs” (Bengaluru) in partnership with Baalya Trust and mobilised 800 dry ration kits for Jenukuruba Adivasi families in Hunsur taluk which would suffice for 10 days, according to Anantha President, Baalya Trust.
The dry ration kit included quality items of five Kg Rice, Wheat Flour two Kg, Groundnut one Kg, Dal one Kg, Jaggery one Kg, 500 Ml cooking oil, masala packs, bath & washing soaps, tea powder and biscuits which come up to Rs 1000 a kit.

Due to the lockdown during the pandemic, the adivasi families are out of their daily wages and finding it difficult to fulfill their basic needs. The lockdown has made the situation challenging for pregnant women, milk feeding mothers, senior citizens and families who do not have ration card or any other social benefits.
During these challenging days Harish Kumar M (Foundation Director) of We Support Foundation initiated a campaign “Lets Feed Hungry Stomachs” in partnership with Anantha (Founder President) Baalya Trust and Teepoi Foundation to support the adivasi families with dry ration kits along with an awareness program about the spreading Corona virus by highlighting the
precautionary steps to be followed through illustrations and educating them about the vaccination being safe as many of the adivasi families are in fear about losing life if vaccinated.
“Lets Feed Hungry Stomachs” campaign initiated by We Support Foundation has been working throughout the second lockdown in Bengaluru by providing
1500 cooked meals every day to street dwellers, under marginalized communities and homeless. The campaign has fed around 25000 people with the support of Prasanna Anna Dana (Bengaluru).
We Support Foundation has also identified and provided dry ration kits to theatre artists, musicians, transgender communities and still continuing with supporting them.
This campaign “Lets Feed Hungry Stomachs” an initiative by We Support
Foundation is a great success with all the donors and primary supporters like
