‘Oral Cancer for all’ live surgical demonstration at Yenepoya

Mangaluru: ‘Oral Cancer for all’ a South zone live surgical workshop has been organised at Yenepoya Medical College and Hospital, Deralakatte in the city on August 31.
The surgical operation will be screened live at the indoor auditorium of the college from 8.30 am to 5 pm.
The department of oral and maxillofacial surgery, Yenepoya Dental College has organised the programme in association with Karnataka State Chapter AOMSI and Yen Onco Centre, Yenepoya Medical College, Yenepoya ( Deemed to be university).
Dr M Vijaykumar professor of Surgical Oncology, Yen Onco Centre and his team will be conducting live surgical demonstrations of reaction and reconstruction on patients suffering from oral cancer.
Video presentations on ” Minimally invasive surgeries in oral cancer” by Dr Sandeep Nayak, Fortis Hospital, Bengaluru and “Bone and soft tissue reconstruction in oral cancer” by Dr Devipradad S, plastic surgeon, Yenepoya are also organised.
Panel discussions will be conducted on various treatment modalities of oral cancer, which is the need of the hour especially in a country like India, where oral cancer is one of the common cancers in the body.
More than 300 delegates are expected to attend the event.
Chancellor of the varsity Y Abdulla Kunhi, Pro- chancellor Farhad Yenepoya, VC Dr M Vijaykumar, Pro- VC Dr C V Raghuveer and Registrar Dr S Gangadhar Somayaji will be present.
