Online workshop on testing and evaluation for teachers & research scholars of Tamil begins at NTS-I, CllL

Mysuru: A five-day online Training cum Workshop on Testing and Evaluation for Assistant Professors, Teachers (Secondary & Higher Secondary) and Research Scholars of Tamil from all over the country, began at National Testing Service-India (NTS-I) of Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru on Monday.

In his inaugural address, Prof P Perumalsamy, Deputy Director, CllL briefed about the activities of CllL and its various schemes.

He emphasised on the activities of NTS-I and said that any activity undertaken by CllL is for the development of the Indian languages and the contribution that is being made by NTS-I is significantly it involves the participants of the entire teaching community and the ultimate beneficiary are the class students at all the seven levels of education i.e., from primary to research.

According to Prof P R Dharmesh Fernandez, Professor cum Deputy Director and Head, NTS-I who welcomed the participants, also briefed bout the objectives of the workshop.

He suggested that the participants should make use of the lessons given by the institutional experts as well as the external experts invited for this purpose.

He further added that if the knowledge and skill gained here is used in the classrooms it will enable the students to face any competitive or entrance exams with confidence.

Prof P Ratnasabapathy, former Director, TIERA, Chennai, Prof T Sethupandian, former Professor of Linguistics, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, Prof Sam Mohanlal, former Professor cum Deputy Director, CllL and Dr M Balakumar, former Head, NTS-I, CllL and NTS-I faculties viz., Dr V Ilangovan, Dr R Shakunthala, Dr A R Muthukkaruppan, Dr A Eswaran and technical JRPs viz., Ancy Thomas and K S Raghavan will train the participants in various academic and technical sessions of this online workshop.

Dr Pankaj Dwivedi, lecturer cum Junior Research Officer, CllL & Officer-In charge, NTS-I is coordinating this workshop. Prof C G Venkatesha Murthy, Director, CllL, Mysuru is overall patron of the workshop.

About 68 assistant professors, school teachers and research scholars, wwhoare engaged in teaching of Tamil from various schools, universities and colleges of the country, are participating in this online training workshop.
