Mysuru: Mysuru City District Youth Congress Committee workers on Friday staged a protest against BJP that is celebrating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday in a grand way.

Renting “Down Down BJP slogans” to the air during the protest staged in front of Law Court’s complex on K R Boulevard road, Congress workers instead sought jobs to address the unemployment rate.

Former MLA M K Somashekar who took part in the protest asked about the promise of jobs made by Modi, during the general elections to the parliament in 2014 and 2019, which are yet to be a reality. Due to the lack of policy, unemployment crisis is high and hundreds of youths are losing their jobs daily.

Modi had earlier promised about two crore jobs per year. If gone by the promise, in the last seven years of government, 14 crore jobs are not created yet. Each and every households are suffering from unemployment, Somashekar added.

City youth congress president Mohammed Harris, Chetan, general Secretary Mohammed Barah, Vishnupriya and Vikram were present.
