Old KSRTC buses get makeover as mobile sanitisers in Mysuru

Mysuru: A day after Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, Bengaluru  launched mobile sanitisers ‘Sarige Sanjivini’, the Mysuru division too inaugurated similar services.

On Monday, KSRTC Security and Vigilance director Dr Ramnivas Sapet, IPS, inaugurated the mobile sanitizer buses at Mysuru Rural Bus depot.

These buses have been uniquely designed – by removing the seats and fixing jets  – to sprinkle  sodium hypochlorite solution as disinfectant.
 
The KSRTC spent Rs 20,000 on each bus and arranged two mobile sanitizers for their employees first.
 
 
In Mysuru rurual division, a total of 3,000 employees and urban division 2,100 employees are working and these sanitisers are helping them.
 
Director Ramnivas Sapet said that Mysuru is the second place to introduce Mobile sanitizers and the credit must go to the mechanical division.
 
“We have used 12-year-old buses for mobile sanitizers. If district administration demands more, we are  ready to provide the buses in populated areas,” he said.
