NR Group unveils Mysore Warriors Golf team for Mysore Golf League

Mysuru: The NR Group has officially announced the formation of Mysore Warriors Golf Team to participate in the prestigious Mysore Golf League (MGL), slated to run from January 11 to January 25, 2025.

The tournament, organised by the Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club (JWGC), will feature eight teams competing in innovative formats, showcasing the growing prominence of golf in Mysuru.

The Mysore Warriors Golf Team, led by Arjun Ranga, Managing Director of Cycle Pure Agarbathi, and featuring marquee player M G Chengappa, will face stiff competition from other teams, including Grand Serene Royals, Walkmate Aces, Gravity One Vanaja, Naksha Masters, Sandalwood Strikers and Saanvi’s Mysuru Tigers.

The league will feature five rounds of play, each with unique formats:

– Four Ball Format: January 11
– Foursome (Alternate Shot): January 12
– Team Scramble: January 18
– Three-Ball Match Play: January 19
– Final Round (All Formats): January 25

To prepare, the Mysore Warriors underwent intensive training at the TSG Academy in Bengaluru. On January 4, 2025 the team’s official jersey and anthem were unveiled in a ceremony attended by JWGC members and the owners of the other competing teams.

As part of their social responsibility, the Mysore Warriors have partnered with Reforest India. For every point earned during the tournament, the team will plant 10 saplings, aiming to plant 1,000 saplings over three weekends, reinforcing their commitment to environmental conservation.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Arjun Ranga stated, “We are thrilled to be part of this historic moment in Mysuru’s golfing journey. The MGL not only provides an exciting competitive platform but also unites the community through a shared passion for golf. Our collaboration with Reforest India reflects our dedication to making a meaningful impact beyond the sport.”

Cycle Pure Agarbathi, known for promoting sports, continues to foster Mysuru’s sports culture. Their initiatives include the Tiger Cup and the Mysore Warriors’ victorious campaign in the 2024 Maharaja Trophy, inspiring athletes and uplifting the local community.

The Mysore Golf League promises an exciting fusion of competitive spirit and community engagement, marking a new chapter in Mysuru’s sporting history.
