Bengaluru: After taking out bicycle and Bullock cart rallies in protest against rise in fuel prices and inflation, Congress party on Friday took out a tonga rally.
The rally was taken out from KPCC office on Queens Road to Vidhana Soudha under the leadership of KPCC President D K Shivakumar and Opposition Leader in Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah.
Both the leaders rode the same tonga, with Siddaramaiah cracking the whip.
Shivakumar said that the rally is for the cause of the people and will continue till the prices are revoked.
Slogans were raised against BJP government by hundreds of Congress party workers who walked on the either side of tongas.
Former minister Priyank Kharge, MLAs Dr Ajay Singh, N A Harris and Rahim Khan and several other leaders took part in the protest rally.
