Mysuru: Following the spike in Covid-19 cases, tourism is already hit hard.

To prevent tourists irrespective of domestic and inter- state, from thronging the tourist spots in the district especially on weekends, the district administration has banned tourists in H D Kote taluk. The ban will be effective from July 10 till further order.

According to a notification from Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar ” the tourists are prohibited from checking into any lodges, home stay, resort and hotels in H D Kote taluk. The restrictions apply for both offline and online booking of rooms too”.

However, in case of those who have already checked into the rooms, they should be allowed to stay till the period of their stay. They should not be forced out of the rooms. But, the booking made for the later dates should be cancelled and the tourists should be intimidated about it. These orders are applicable to safaris in Dammankatte, Bandipur and Nagarahole national forests, in H D Kote taluk.

The orders are issued under Rule 12 of Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Covid- 19 Regulations 2020 and Sections 12, 30 (2) and 34 of Disaster Management Act 2005, in public interest.
