Bengaluru: Ending speculations, state government has finally decided to resume classes from grades six to eight also from September 6 (Monday).
Speaking to media persons after the chief minister headed meeting, Revenue Minister R Ashok said “Only 50% of the students should attend the classes on alternate days. Classes will be conducted during weekdays. Weekends will be holiday for students to sanitise the classrooms,” said Ashok.
Schools will be reopened only in taluks, where Covid positivity rate is less than two per cent, Ashok said.
This decision of the students stems from the fact that, the situation has remained normal after the classes for grades nine to 12 reopened from August 23. The response is also good, with more students opting offline classes.
Meanwhile, it is also decided to withdraw Weekend Curfew and Night Curfew in Mysuru and other districts, while it will continue in Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Hassan and Udupi districts from 9 pm to 5 pm.
