No social distancing! Cops cane people at M G road market

1 min read

Mysuru: Several hours after the nation came under lockdown in the fight against Coronavirus, mixed response was witnessed in the city on Wednesday the day of Ugadi festival.

It was business as usual at the city’s crowded vegetable market on Mahatma Gandhi road, when the lathi wielding police dispersed the people.

Though the district administration has exempted essential services from the prohibition, including fruit and vegetable shops, the market where people congregate in large numbers are not allowed.

As the thrust is on maintaining social distancing, the authorities are acting tough against mass gathering.
