No place for ‘OMR’ in BSY’s cabinet; Ramadass to be inducted later

1 min read

Bengaluru: When B S Yediyurapppa became the chief Minister of the State in 2008, Mysuru had missed its due in the cabinet.

Yediyurappa had brought in his loyal MLA Shobha Karandlaje as a district miniter, with energy department in her kitty. It was only after sometime local BJP MLA S A Ramadass was inducted into the cabinet and made in- charge of the district.

The situation is repeated with the recent formation of 17 member cabinet, as no MLA from old Mysuru region ( OMR) have been inducted into the cabinet.

In Mysuru district BJP has three MLAs- Ramadass, L Nagendra and B Harshavardhan. Ramadass is the senior most MLA and two others are first timers. Till yesterday, the name of Ramadass was doing rounds.

When Mysoorunews.com went behind the reasons, it was learnt that ‘Ramadass a brahmin has missed the bus to accommodate another MLA S Suresh Kumar from the same community. Ramadass may be accomodated during the expansion of the cabinet’.

In Chamarajanagar, the lone saffron MLA is C S Niranjan Kumar from Gundlupet. In Kodagu, there are two MLAs- Appachu Ranjan from Madikeri and K J Bopaiah from Virajpet. In Hassan- Preetham Gowda is the lone MLA from the party again. In Mandya, there is zero representation.

None of them have succeeded to land a cabinet berth setting the tongues wagging.
