No interim relief; DKS fears arrest by ED

1 min read

Bengaluru: Former minister and Congress leader D K Shivakumar has suffered a set back at the High Court on August 30.

The court has quashed the application of Shivakumar seeking interim relief from appearing before the enforcement directorate ( ED) in New Delhi .

The ED has issued summons to Shivakumar to apoear for enquiry on August 30, in an alleged money laundering case. The lawyers appearing for Shivakumar tried to plead that Shivakumar will appear before ED either on September 5 or 6. Finally, the court declined to honour any request for interim relief.

The buzz is that ‘If Shivakumar fails to appear today for enquiry, he may be taken into custody on August 31. If they feel, Shivakumar is not coming out with adequate answers, they may arrest him’.

According to the procedure, Shivakumar will have to furnish both written and oral answers at the time of enquiry.
