Bengaluru: In a major relief to Nandini milk consumers, there won’t be a hike in milk and curd prices for now as Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has decided to keep the decision to increase the price of milk by Rs three per litre on hold for now.
The hike in prices was earlier scheduled to be effective from Tuesday (November 15).
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai who spoke to media persons at Sedam in Kalaburagi on Sunday said “The final decision on the hike will be taken after a meeting with KMF chairman and officials on November 20”.
Karnataka Milk Federation had proposed to hike the milk and curd prices owing to the increase in processing and maintenance costs in dairy farming for the last two years.
