No farmer will be evicted from their land: CM Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured that no farmer would be evicted from their agricultural lands and any eviction notices issued to them will be withdrawn.
His comments came in response to questions from journalists regarding notices sent to farmers in the Vijayapura, Yadgir and Dharwad districts, claiming their lands belonged to Karnataka State Wakf Board.
The CM also noted that, Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, Vijayapura District In-charge Minister M B Patil and Waqf Minister B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan had held a joint press conference yesterday to clarify the situation.
Single-Member Commission to Review Internal Reservation Implementation
In a Cabinet meeting yesterday, the Government decided to move forward with implementation of internal reservation. A single-member Commission, led by a retired High Court judge, will be established to review this policy and submit a report within three months.
The CM further clarified that, apart from the job notifications already issued, no new recruitment notifications will be released until the Commission’s study is completed.
