1 min read

Mysuru: Over a fortnight is left for navaratri to start on September 29 and a sudden change has happened.

Elephant Eshwara who was brought in to take part in jamboo savari procession on October 8 has been omitted from the task.

Following the directions of Housing and district minister V Somanna, the forest personnel have decided not to take Eshwara for the procession.

DCF Alexander has said “There is no particular reason for dropping Eshwara. Based on the instructions of the minister, the decision has been taken”.

Eshwara, 49, had been brought in from Mathigodu elephant camp. He had been brought to Mysuru along with five other elephants in the first batch on August 22. He was being taken on routine walk on jamboo Savari route from August 26.

Following the change, forest personnel are looking for replacement.
