Mysuru: A campaign to feed the tribal families in Hunsur taluk in the district was launched recently.
As the pandemic continues, endangered tribal communities in the region are facing further threats to their survival with hunger and malnutrition being a chronic issue.

As an emergency action we have mobilised over 300 dry-ration kits in the first round of assistance to eight tribal hamlets in and around the Nagarhole National Park, said Anantha of Baalya Trust.
Already 500 families are covered and plans are afoot to reach 3000 families.

The kits were distributed among the Kolavige, Kappana Katte and Dasanapura tribal hamlets. The volunteers also distributed masks among the communities and highlighted precautions steps to safeguard against the pandemic.
As we continue to expand this outreach effort, Baalya Trust has joined hands with Global Kulture organization, IBAT, Vidya Poshak and Karnataka Press Club Council to coordinate this effort, added Anantha.
“We are humbled by the support and sponsorship to this initiative provided by Visteon. We would like to offer special thanks to the Mysore Police for providing necessary permits and support. This initiative is ongoing as more organisations and individuals continue to extend support,” said Anantha.
