New union minister Shantanu Thakur is KSOU, Mysuru graduate

Mysuru: While four MPs from the State have made it to the union cabinet, there is another MP with Karnataka connection, especially Mysuru, who has been just sworn in as union minister.

Shantanu Thakur a 38-year-old BJP MP representing Bongaon in West Bengal, is a graduate of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysuru.

He holds a BA in English from KSOU and Diploma in Hospitality Management, according to the details available.

A first non-TMC MP from Bagoan segment in West Bengal, Thakur is the son of ex- Bengal minister Manjul Krishna Thakur.
