New Police Commissioner’s office! Act on violation, don’t issue Completion Report, activist urges MCC commissioner

Mysuru: The newly constructed police commissioner’s office building continues to be in news for reasons known to all.

A social activist has warned of filing a private criminal suite in the court of law against MCC commissioner and other officials if they fail to initiate action against violation in the construction of police commissioner’s office.

The newly built Police Commissioner’s office building that has been mired in controversy for many reasons.

Social activist N Gangaraju in his memorandum to MCC Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde has urged him “not to issue building completion report ( CR) as requested by police Commissioner’s office, initiate clearance of encroachment of the building by demolition orders and file a criminal case against all those officials and responsible people, who have violated or helped in violation”.

Gangaraju has cited the violation of relinquishment deed by the police commissioner.

“The office building ( city survey number 544) No 675, N2, Mirza Road, Nazarbad Mohalla, Mysuru has been built already encroaching the relinquished land of 1.00 m depth of the site for its width 150.72 m ie., 1.00×150.72 m= 150.72 sq m on the southern side of the plot”.

On December 06, 2016, the Police Commissioner had executed the dead of relinquishment ( first party the relinquisher) in favour of Governor, Government of Karnataka, represented by the town planning officer, Mysuru City Corporation, on behalf of the Commissioner, Mysuru City Corporation, Mysuru ( second party, the beneficiary).

As per the Master Plan-II-2031 Mysuru Nanjangud local Planning Area zoning of Land Use and Development Control Regulations, Volume-III states that “The land required for road widening shall be handed over to the authority free of cost”. In the said Development Control Regulations, the road adjoining on the southern side of the plot is proposed for 18.00 m widening.

Accordingly the first party shall hand over 1.00 m depth of the site for its width 150.72 m ie., 1.00×150.72 m= 150.72 sq m for the purpose of road widening of the existing width of 16.00 m to the second party at free of cost”.
