Mysuru: Flower shows at Kuppanna Park, Kukkarahalli lake and Crawford Hall have become common attractions during Dasara.
A new addition to this, is a ‘Bonsai Garden’ that has been nurtured at a private farm on Bogadi- Gaddige road.

B N Doddamani and his wife have created a world of bonsai plants at their farm on Kamaralli road near Chikkere gate off Gaddige road. The collections are not less than 800 to 1,000 plants that they have been nurturing for the last several years.

A native of Belagavi, Doddamani couple who moved to Mysuru, have devoted all their time for the plants after Doddamani’s retirement from government service. The collections include-trees that are 35-year-old standing five to six feet tall in the customised concrete pots.

The couple’s love for plants is further intriguing as they use only organic manure to avoid chemically rich fertilizers.
Doddamani says “I took to Bonsai farming, that spread a quiet message in the society where the superiority complex among the people is straining many relations. Equality is the end message, as bonsai plants remain at the same height”.
Strictly the plants are not for sale.
Interested can visit the exhibition from 9 am to 6.30 pm up to October 8.
Doddamani couple will be waiting to show their world of plants. The entry is free.
