Naveen Gyanagowdar’s body handed over to SS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre

Davangere: The body of Naveen Shekarappa Gyangowdar was donated to SS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre (SSIMS& RC) for the purpose of medical research on Monday.

Naveen was killed in shelling during Russia-Ukraine war at Kharkiv in Ukraine on March 1. Naveen was studying medical in third year at Kharkiv Medical College.

The mortial remains reached the State on Monday wee hours and was later taken to his native Chalageri in Haveri district.

Prior to receiving the body, SS Medical College authorities completed the procedures related to cadaver donation.

Naveen’s father Shekarappa had announced to donate the body to enable medical students. 

Earlier Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Davanagere MP G M Siddeshwar paid their last respects to the mortal remains of Naveen.

After keeping the mortal remains to facilitate relatives and villagers to pay their last respects, the body was taken out in a procession before handing over the cadaver to college authorities.
