National level project competition at ATMECE! Smart PPE Kit for healthcare workers adjudged first

Mysuru: The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering association “QUANTUM” in association with the IEEE Student Branch had organised a “National Level Project Competition” on July 20 for Final & Pre-Final Year EEE Students at ATME College of Engineering, Mysuru.

The event was conducted on a virtual platform.

The objectives of the event is to introduce students to real world engineering situations and encourage to develop solutions addressing environment, economic sustainability and societal causes.

Further, to create opportunity to the students to exhibit their technical, communication skills, research orientation and project management.

Shreeshayana R, Assistant Professor, welcomed the dignitaries and participants.

Dr L Basavaraj, Principal, ATME College of Engineering addressed the participants and
said “it is a good platform for the students to exhibit their talent. AICTE has organised many hackathon programs to support Make in India. In line with this, VTU is providing financial assistance to two projects per branch and adviced participants to make use of the platform effectively to showcase their technical skills.”

Program Convener Dr Parthasarathy L, Professor & Head, Department of EEE, said “the project competition is conducted annually. The event is to empower students to exhibit their technical skills acquired during the program and apply the same towards developments of projects.
Further, he said the main idea of such events is to make students acquire skills so as to make them employable.”

More than 40 teams from various engineering colleges across PAN India participated in the event.

In the final year project category, The project titled “Smart PPE Kit for Healthcare Workers” presented by Simrah Fathima, Mohammed Huzaif, Haseebulla Baig and Syed Rawoof-ur-Rahman from ATME College of Engineering, Mysuru bagged first place. They were guided by Shreeshayana R, Assistant Professor.

Green Initiative Low-Cost Electric Vehicle presented by Nanditha J, Shwetha R and Saima Zulfa from VVCE, Mysuru bagged second place. They were guided by Dr Gopala Reddy K, Professor and co-guided by H K Pooja, Assistant Professor.

Gamified Platform for Introduction of EV Drive presented by Guru Kiran Prabhu, Vinayak P B and Pradeep under the guidance of Dr V Champa, Associate Professor from BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru and Automatic Sanitiser, Mask, Glove Dispensing Machine presented by Mohammed Faris, Indrani L under the guidance of Praveen Kumar M, Assistant Professor won consolation prize.

In the pre-final year project category, a project titled, “Single Axis Solar Tracking
System” presented by Muskan Banu, Bhavana S S, Harshitha M and Rakshitha M from GSSSIETW, Mysuru bagged first place under the guidance of Girisha K M, Assistant Professor.

DTMF Controlled Robot Using Arduino presented by Nandana R, Divya N and Darigala Aashritha from GSSSIETW, Mysuru bagged second place under the guidance of Shravya J, Assistant Professor.

Smart Irrigation System Using IoT presented by Gagana S and Adithya K S from ATME College of Engineering won consolation prize mentored by Raghavendra L, Associate Professor.

Swapna H, Assistant Professor, rendered vote of thanks.

Dr L Basavaraj, Principal, Dr Parthasarathy L, Program Convener, Raghavendra L, Associate Professor, Shreeshayana R, Assistant Professor, program coordinators, faculty members, students were present.

The management, principal and the department congratulated the winners.
