National Award for VVCE Principal Dr B Sadashive Gowda

Mysuru: Dr B Sadashive Gowda, Principal of Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE) in the city and Dean of Faculty at Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), has been presented with the prestigious Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan National Award as the Best Engineering College Principal.

This award is presented by the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).

The award recognizes Dr Gowda’s exceptional contributions to the field of technical education in India. The ceremony took place during the 52nd ISTE National Annual Convention held in Kalaburagi, where VTU Vice Chancellor Dr S Vidyashankar presented the award to Dr Gowda.

The award aims to encourage engineering college heads to demonstrate exemplary leadership in institutional development, management, and commitment to maintaining high standards across all programs.

Dr Gowda began his journey at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering in June 2007 as a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and soon was elevated as Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department. He was appointed Vice Principal in 2008 and became Principal in May 2010.

Dr Gowda has served as a member of VTU’s Academic Senate from 2013 to 2016. His professional affiliations include being a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers, an Executive Member of ISHRAE’s Mysore Chapter, and a lifelong member of ISTE.
