Nation wide general strike call receives good response from organisations in city

Mysuru: The nation wide general strike call by various organisations received a good response in the city on Monday. The organisations have given a two day strike call on Monday and Tuesday.

Various organisations like INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC, and JCTU have called for the strike.

The protesters representing various industries assembled near deputy commissioner’s office and raised slogans against the Union government.

All the trade unions demanded the government to reduce the prices of essential commodities, petrol and diesel rates.

Union government should provide an incentive of Rs 7,500 along with 10 kg food grains per family member. The Bills related to electricity and farm should be withdrawn and the privatisation of public sector units must be stopped, they demanded.

Activists representing more than 200 various organisations staged protests at three different locations.

Bank employees staged token protest in front of the respective regional offices. The postal employees staged protest at the head office.
