Mangaluru: Even as the government has decided to stop the drive against illegal religious structures in the state, the incident of pulling down Adishakti Mahadevamma temple at Huchgani village in Nanjangud taluk in Mysuru district is snowballing into a major controversy.
Condemning the incident of Mysuru and across the state, Bajrang Dal has given a protest call at all the district and taluk centres in coastal areas on September 16.
In a press release, Sharan Pumpwell divisional secretary of Bajrang Dal has stated that “Bajrang Dal strongly condemns the demolition of Adishakti Mahadevamma Bhyraveshwara temple a historical temple in Nanjangud. The government should step back from the decision of removing those structures and rebuild the temples which have been razed to the ground.”
Demanding the suspension of Mysuru deputy commissioner and Nanjangud tahsildar a protest has been organised in coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi on September 16.
Bajrang Dal Mangaluru division will stage a protest in front of Kadri arch at Mallikatte at 11 am on the day, according to Pradeep Saripalla, zilla prachar pramukh.
