Nanjangud Srikanteshwara Swamy richer by Rs 2.4 crore

Mysuru: Sri Srikanteshwara Swamy temple at Nanjangud in the district has become richer by Rs 2.4 crore.

According to the recent offerings collected in the 26 hundis (offering boxes) at the temple, Rs 2,40,96,139 was calculated when the hundis were opened for routine counting of the offerings. Besides, the devotees have also donated 194.8 grams of gold, 5.5 kg silver and 31 foreign currencies as counted from the boxes.

The offerings were counted at the Dasoha Bhavan near the temple. Apart from the staff of Bank of Baroda, the volunteers and membersof women self-help groups were involved in the task.

Assistant Commissioner Kamala Bai and Executive Officer of the temple Jagadish Kumar were present.
