Nairutya Railway Kannada Sangha celebrates Karnataka Rajyotsava

Hubballi: Nairutya Railway Kannada Sangha celebrated Karnataka Rajyotsava with great enthusiasm at the Chalukya Institute on Gadag Road, Hubballi.

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including writer Dr Malathi Pattanshetty, Sathya Prakash Shastri, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, SWR, and Dr Anup Dayanand Sadhu, Dy CCM & Mahantappa Nandur, President of Nairutya Railway Kannada Sangha.

Dr Malathi Pattanshetty, addressing the gathering, lauded the celebration of Karnataka Rajyotsava and unveiled the Kannada book “Nudi Torana”.

She emphasised the significance of railway services as a vital lifeline for the common people and praised the establishment of the Kannada Sangha within the Railway Department.

Highlighting the pivotal role of railways in connecting the nation, she acknowledged the contributions of South Western Railway administration to the development of North Karnataka.

Sathya Prakash Shastri commended the increasing representation of officers and employees from Karnataka in the railway administration.

He noted that their contributions have enhanced the efficiency and ease of railway operations, fostering a stronger connection with the local populace.

The celebrations featured a variety of activities, including a Rangoli competition for women employees, cultural programmes and the felicitation of students who excelled in their SSLC and 2nd PUC examinations. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the various competition and outstanding performers in cultural events.

Several officers and staff along with their family from South Western Railway participated in the event, adding to the festive atmosphere. The celebration underscored the commitment of SWR to promoting regional culture and fostering inclusivity within its workforce, according to Dr Manjunath Kanamadi, Chief Public Relations Officer
