Nagara Samrudhi Mela at JSS Urban Haath till March 08

Mysuru: A state-of-the-art exhibition and sale of products manufactured by women’s self-help groups under the Day-Nulm Campaign at the JSS Mysore Urban Hath in ring road industrial area is being held and is open till March 8. The event, which runs from 10 am to 9 pm every day, will see the beauty of products manufactured by urban self-help groups.

Here is a collection of materials created from the women’s self-help groups under the National Urban Livelihoods Campaign – the Deena Dayal Anthyodhaya Yojana, which has been awarded by the central government under the Department of Skills Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood of the Government of Karnataka.

This is helping to strengthen the self-help groups and the fiber power economically. The main objective of the event is to promote the products of women’s self-help organizations locally.

There are about 50 stores that allow the exhibition and sale of high quality items manufactured by associations.

Attractive Handicrafts, Handloom Textiles, Handloom Silk and Cotton Sarees, Handloom Wraps, Miscellaneous Metal, Lace Embroidery, Readymade, Leather and Toys , Copper-made utensils, pearls and cardamom necklaces, women’s vanity bags, jute bags, shoes, lace saris, attractive decorative items are on display.

Type Attraction: Usually exhibitions, fairs are filled with foreign objects and multinational companies. But this fair is specially made for rural and urban women. Every product has a mark of women’s toil.

Various kinds of vases, attractive artificial flowers and decorative items are on display at the fair. In addition to the finished products, there is also the opportunity to view the progress of their preparation. This is why this fair is unique.

There is also a collection of lace garments. Home-ready products and various dishes are also waiting for customers.

The beneficiaries of the project are the members of the self-help groups in the stores here for the excellence of women’s achievement and courage. They come from all over the state and have a passion for the products they produce and describe the products they produce.

About Day Nalm Project: The project is supporting urban street vendors and providing shelter to the city’s homeless.
