Shivamurthy who chose the topic of Biodiversity of Tripura, took a few weeks to understand the flora and fauna of the state. Finally he took the assistance of junior researcher Arron Prashanth Menezes and shot eight minutes 28 seconds documentary in English.
Vigyan Prasar (VP) organises National Science Film Festival in different parts of the country with various themes. The theme this year is Tripura, as VP is associated with Tripura State Council for Science and Technology.
Shivamurhty told Mysoorunews.com, “it’s a feeling of uber excitement. As a person with visual media background, I did my bit and won appreciation at national level”.
Sounding humble, Shivamurthy said “I have a basic cell phone. I am very interested in documentary production and my researcher helped me in the endeavour. It got selected for screening at 10th National Science Film Festival of India”.
“Through the screening was arranged on January 23 and 24, it was postponed due to the sudden changes in schedule of flight operations due to the pandemic. The virtual programme has been organised from November 24 to 27 at Tripura, where the documentary will be screened”, Shivamurhty stated.
The EMMRC department is popular among documentary and short film makers. The successful students of the department have been displaying their talents at national level and many of them have landed prestigious awards.
