Mysuru: With the increasing Covid cases, 300 more oxygenated beds will be added at Trauma Center. Apart from Mysuru,  patients from Bengaluru also are looking towards Mysuru for beds and hence the district administration is bracing up to face the challenge.

On Tuesday district minister S T Somashekar, Mysuru- Kodagu MP Pratap Simha and Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri visited K R Hospital and inspected the oxygen plant.

Somashekar said” Mysuru is second after Bengaluru when it comes to alarming situation. Hence we have taken strict measures and providing better medical facilities here. We have also approached for eight lakh vaccines,” somashekar added.

Meanwhile, the government has no intention to reimpose lockdown, he added.

DC Rohini Sindhuri said “Mysuru is witnessing a sudden hike with Covid cases touching 800. As on today beds are available and ICU beds and Oxygenated beds are also available and there is no need for the people to panic. The people must follow Covid guidelines strictly.”

Currently 13,000 litres of oxygen is being used against the plant capacity of 17,000 litres, with no such problem related to Oxygen. We are commissioning 300 oxygenated beds at Trauma center in two days, she claimed.

MP Pratap Simha said “our district administration is taking better measures against Covid-19. Oxygenated beds and ICU facilities are better, with the government providing every possible support.”
