Mysuru police keeping hawks eye on social media: Police Commissioner

Mysuru: Following the surge in usage of social media that sometimes trigger conflicts in the society, Mysuru City Police have intensified the social media monitoring system.
Police Commissioner Dr Chandragupta told media persons on Friday “the police are keeping an hawks eye on social media”.
From the social media posts to every other uploads, particularly the viral contents, geographical origin and the intention behind them, all such intricate matters are being tracked upon to take preventive action. If any violations are found and the contents may foment trouble, action will be taken in such cases, warned Dr Chandragupta.
It may be recalled that, a social media post by a Bajrang Dal activist in Hubballi angered a particular community on a large scale that led to violent incidents on April 16.
