Mysuru: Mysore District Congress Committee on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner seeking action against Mysuru-Kodagu MP Prathap Simha.
In the memorandum signed by Mysore District Congress Committee President Dr B J Vijaykumar ” It has been referred to the recent remarks of Simha in the KDP meeting held on September 8 at Zilla Panchayat. Simha has made a provocative statement to demolish the dargah on D D Urs road and Irwin road, in the presence of 11 MLAs of the district. As Simha issued a warning in this regard, deputy commissioner should consider it seriously.”
The Congress party has no objection to initiating action against those religious structures irrespective of temples, mosques and churches built in public place, complying with Supreme Court order of 2013. But, in the case of dargah on Urs road and Irwin road, the contending parties have moved High Court and Supreme Court.
Hence, the MP instead of discussing about the development related matters has resorted to disturb communal harmony with his statements. Being a MP it is against law to discriminate people in the name of muslim, christian and hindu. If it leads to any communal violence in the district, both MP and the district administration will be held responsible.
There seems to be a conspiracy behind razing the temple in the night only to derive political mileage. If any religious structures are troubled in Mysuru and other parts of the State, the BJP will be the reason behind it.
The police should provide adequate protection to all those religious structures irrespective of community and initiate action against Simha.
In a press meet on September 12, Simha has spoken ill about muslim women. Hence action should be taken against him, the Congress committee has strongly urged in the memorandum to DC.
