According to a notification of union home ministry that is circulated on social media networks, secretary to the ministry has instructed the States to continue with the the compliance of containment measures due to Covid-19 throughout the month of June too.

This follows the notification of Union health and family welfare ministry dated May 25. It is in the wake of active cases still very high, despite the declining trend.

On the other hand, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has convened a cabinet meeting on June 5 to take a call on whether to extend the lockdown after June 7.

Amidst this, the ministers are also in favour of perennial measures and are exerting pressure on the chief minister not to relax the prevailing norms and guidelines to keep the virus at bay.
