Mysuru eclipsed! Roads wore deserted look, no hustle bustle in markets

Mysuru: Myth is a myth and it’s not an easy task to check blind beliefs.
As the eclipse began at 8 am, people mainly those who believe in omen good and bad, stayed indoors, with most of the roads wearing a deserted look.
Except those who were not ready to believe in the curse that follows, by remaining nonchalant on the day were seen freely moving around.
The markets, especially the vegetable market on M G Road wore a deserted look, with vendors waiting for the customers.
It’s the usual time from early morning hours till 1 PM, when the market witnesses a heavy rush of customers who look for farm fresh vegetables, leaves and fruits.
However, till the eclipse ended at 11.09 am, barely a few customers turned up at the market.
Sakamma a vendor told Mysoorunews.com “Eclipse or no eclipse, we have been used to wait for the customers. However the business especially of retail buyers picks up only after 9 am, followed by homemakers. It’s up to the people to believe or not to believe ( in the omen)”.
Similar was the response at Vani Vilas Market in Agrahara, Nanjumalige, Devaraja Market, Mandi Market and other areas.
