Mysuru District Police return properties worth Rs 1.34 crore recovered in 63 cases

Mysuru: Mysuru District Police successfully conducted a property return parade at District Armed Reserve (DAR) Police Ground, Jyothi Nagar in the city on Friday.

The properties worth Rs. 1.34 crore recovered by solving 63 cases, were returned to their rightful owners, with DIG (Southern Range) Dr M B Boralingaiah doing the honours.

The properties recovered in 63 cases between January and July-2023, were exhibited at the ground.

It included 1.77 kg of gold, around 920 grams of silver worth Rs 81.02 lakh, cash amounting to Rs 12.62 lakh, farm equipment worth Rs 6.92 lakh, 22 vehicles worth Rs 36.23 lakh, idols valued at Rs one lakh, 192 mobile phones worth Rs 25 lakh, seven cattle, 13 sheep and 43 pigeons worth Rs 3.06 lakh, hardware and electronic items worth Rs 80,800, totaling worth Rs. 1,34,66,697.

The total 63 solved cases include highest of 38 theft cases, 15 vehicle thefts, four extortion cases, two each of dacoity and chain snatching and one each of murder and cheating cases.

SP Seema Latkar, Additional SP Dr B N Nandini and other police officers were present.
