Mysuru: Taking exception to former Home minister Araga Jnanendra’s remarks on All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Mallikarjun Kharge, the Mysuru district Congress Committee has decided to smear the BJP leader with black colour.
Addressing mediapersons here on Tuesday, district Congress rural Committee president Dr B J Vijay Kumar said that even after centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi’s protest against race and colour, it is unfortunate that the BJP wants to identify one with their colour and race.
“The Minister’s remarks are an indication that there are people with such mindset,” he added.
To condemn his remarks, the District Congress Committee has decided to smear his face in black colour. The campaign will be carried out throughout the State, he added.
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) spokesman M Lakshmana, City Congress President R Murthy, former Corporator M Shivanna and former Zilla Panchayat President B M Ramu were present.
