Mysuru Dasara-2024 to offer enhanced seating for tourists at Palace

Mysuru: The Mysuru Dasara-2024 is set to be a grander experience for tourists as the district administration plans to increase the seating capacity at the iconic Mysore Palace.
This year, an additional 10,000 to 15,000 seats will be introduced, taking the total capacity from 25,000 to an estimated 35,000-40,000.
Dasara, the annual cultural and traditional festival of Mysuru, draws lakhs of visitors from across the globe. To accommodate the growing number of tourists, the administration provides seating arrangements through passes and tickets inside the Mysore Palace grounds. In response to the increasing demand, the district is preparing to enhance the seating arrangements significantly.
Furthermore, changes to the route of the famous ‘Jamboo Savari’ inside the palace are under consideration as part of these upgrades.
District Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa told media persons, “Every year, the seating capacity becomes a major point of discussion. This time, we are not only working on expanding the seating but also reshaping the route inside the Mysore Palace premises. This will add an additional 10,000 to 15,000 seats for tourists.”
Deputy Commissioner G Lakshmikantha Reddy confirmed to Mysoorunews.com that the proposed modifications to the Jamboo Savari route are in the final stages and will be completed in the coming days.
