Mysuru-Chamarajanagar local bodies seat! Congress’ Dr D Thimmaiah gets early lead

Mysuru: As the counting of votes began of the election to Legislative Council from Mysuru- Chamarajanagar local bodies constituency, Congress candidate Dr D Thimmaiah has got early lead.
While BJP and JDS candidates R Raghu Kautilya and C N Manjegowda respectively are keenly fighting for the second spot in the dual-member seat.
The constituency assumes significance for being the home turf of Opposition leader Siddaramaiah.
Siddaramaiah himself had extensively campaigned for Thimmaiah. While former chief minister B S Yediyurappa had hit the campaign trail for Raghu and another former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy of JDS for Manjegowda.
