Mysuru: Hotel Owners Association Mysore has announced its moral support to the Mysuru Bandh call given by Dr B R Ambedkar Association and various organisations on January 7.
C Narayana Gowda (in picture above), President and A R Ravindra Bhat, Honorary Secretary, Hotel Owners Association (R) Mysore, have issued a joint media statement, saying that, an emergency meeting of all members of our association was held and a unanimous decision was taken to extend moral support from 6 am to 3 pm and take part in the protest at 10 am on January 7.
Dr B R Ambedkar, revered Sharana Sri Basavanna, Saint Kanakadasa, Kempegowda, Shankaracharya and no other great personalities should be insulted.
If there are any issues related to water, land, borders, language, culture and civilisation of this country, our Hotel Association will always be at the forefront of the struggle and protest.
We hereby clarify, our hospitality industry falls under the essential services [FOOD ESSENTIAL SERVICE ACT].
We hereby appeal to the government to stand in support of those who provide the most essential service of providing food and drinking water to tourists and others.
The culture of bandh against the British was born 100 years ago to cause losses to the British government. Now that culture is gone! How fair it is to cause losses to our government. The organisers should find alternative ways instead of bandh.
The decision has been taken by the hotel owners association to provide moral support, with the staff wearing black bands at the hotels and restaurants (Veg/Non-Veg), bakeries, sweet shops, fast food, tiffanys, including tea and coffee shops, chat shops and luxury hotels.
