Mysuru advocates boycott court in protest against Siddaramaiah

1 min read

Mysuru: The Mysuru Bar Association boycotted court proceedings in protest against the recent comment of former chief minister Siddaramaiah.

The association has demanded Siddaramaiah to withdraw his comment finding fault in the stand of the association not to take up the case of Nalini Balakumar who is booked under sedition charges over “Free Kashmir placard” row.

Bar Association President Anand Kumar told media persons on January 23 “advocates are in resentment against Siddaramaiah’s comments. Hence, we decided to boycott the court proceedings”.

Association had taken a similar stand in such cases in the past too, mainly in the cases related to national integrity. However a few of the advocates misguided Siddaramaiah.

Interestingly, Siddaramaiah is also a member of the association, as he had practiced law in Mysuru court between 1970 and 1980 before venturing into politics.
