Mysore University’s centenary convocation logo has a royal connection

Mysuru: University of Mysore unveiled centenary convocation logo, designed by varsity alumnus and member of erstwhile royal family Pramodadevi Wadiyar here on Friday.

The logo was launched by Pramodadevi Wadiyar and Dr Uday Maithra, scientist, Indian Institute of Science.

Speaking on the occasion, Pramodadevi Wadiyar expressed her happiness for contributing to the centenary year celebrations. She recalled contributions of her family members, especially Jayachamarja Wadiyar and Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar (also an alumnus of the varsity) in developing the university into one of the best universities in the country.

“Designing the logo for the university’s centenary year celebrations was a proud moment for me,” said Pramodadevi Wadiyar.

The logo has been designed with the varsity theme ‘Nahi Jnanena Sadrusham’. She has also designed graduation cap.

On the occasion, the varsity also celebrated National Science Day. Dr Maithra gave a presentation of periodical table and how it is helpful in our daily lives.

University Vice-chancellor G Hemanth Kumar informed that the varsity is planning to invite great icons to the 100th convocation to make it a  memorable one.
