Music director Mahesh Mahadev honoured with ‘Bharat Seva Ratna’ National Award

Mysuru: Music director Mahesh Mahadev was honoured with “Bharat Seva Ratna” National Award, by Chetana Foundation and World Press Book of Records at “Vande Mataram”, a programme organised to honour achievers from different fields on the occasion of 78th Independence day celebrations at Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Bengaluru.
“Bharat Seva Ratna”& “Amruta Bharati” Awards were presented to the achievers in Music, Arts and culture.
Kannada Cinema’s renowned lyricist Dr V Nagendra Prasad presented the awards. Music Composer Mahesh Mahadev, was honoured with “Bharat Seva Ratna” Award for his remarkable contributions in the field of music.
With several music compositions in 14
different languages including films, non-filmy, carnatic, classical, hindustani classical, he has captivated audiences with his mindblowing musical compositions.
He has written several Carnatic krithis, Hindustani Bandishes, bhajans, devotional and also film songs in Sanskrit, Kannada and Hindi languages.
Sharing this news to the media and press, Mahesh Mahadev said “I am indebted to people of Karnataka for their love and encouragement. I have been working for both Indian and International music projects now. This award certainly brings me joy and motivates me to work more. My International Music Album “Meera – The way of the storm” has been nominated for International Album of the year for ISSA 2024 Awards, Atlanta, USA held this month. I have also been
nominated as International Song writer of the Year Josie Music Awards 2024,Nashville, Tennessee, USA scheduled for next month.”
He added “I am absolutely delighted to receive the award in the name of “Bharat Seva Ratna” and grateful to the Kannada Film & Music Industry and people for supporting me. My sincere thanks to Chandrashekar for this award.”
Playback singer Dr. Priyadarshini, Dr. Shivanna B and Muraligowda were present as the Guests of Honour.
Many prominents poets, lyricists were also present.
On this occasion, several awards were presented to achievers from different fields
and there was a multilingual poetry recital by various talented artists across India.
Chandrashekhar Madalagere informed that this is the 225th programme organised by the Chetana Foundation.
