Murder, rape of 85-yr old! Youth arrested in Hassan district

Hassan: In a disturbing incident, a 32-year-old man allegedly murdered a 85-year-old woman and sexually assaulted the body, at Erehalli in Arasikere taluk in the district recently.
The incident occurred on April 1, but the case was cracked on Thursday, after police started investigation on finding the body at an agricultural field in the village on April 2.
The victim who had lost way to her agricultural field was offered lift by the accused, said to be a psychopath, who unleashed his villainy act, after riding a distance.
Initially, he started molesting her, and the woman resisted and tried to escape, only to face his wrath.
The accused identified as Mithun Kumar dropped a boulder on the woman, killing her on the spot, before sexually assaulting the dead body.
As the woman remained missing, her family members had filed a missing persons complaint.
The police picked up Mithun Kumar of the same village, for questioning, as he was involved in a similar case five years ago.
He reportedly confessed to the act and was arrested by the police.
