Murder over petty issue: Udayagiri police arrest father, son duo in Tamil Nadu

Mysuru: A father and son duo who was absconding after allegedly murdering a woman were arrested by Udayagiri police from Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu.
Girish, 29, and his father Shivaraj, 57, of K N Pura in Udayagiri are the arrested two. They had gone into hiding at several places at Kerala, Bengaluru and Chamarajanagar before they were traced in Tamil Nadu.
According to police, Bharathi a neighbour of the accused had thrown the rotten tomatoes from her shop to a dustbin, but they missed and accidentally fell on the road, in front of the latter’s house on February 2.
Irked Shivaraj had entered into a wordy duel with her. Later his son Shivaraj also took exception and entered into an argument. In a fit of rage, Girish attacked Bharathi’s daughter Suneeta with a cudgel. When her mother Bharati came to the rescue, he attacked her also. Suneeta succumbed to the injuries on the spot, while Bharati was rushed to a hospital.
Following this DCP ( Law and Order) Pradeep Gunti and ACP Shashidhar had formed a special team to probe the case.
The team led by Inspector P K Raju comprised Sub-inspectors Suneel and Nagaraj Nayak, Shankar, Siddiq Ahmed, Somashekar, Puttaraju, Gopal, Anand, Rathod, Mohan Kumar, Shivarajappa and Sameer.
