MUDA takes into possession five acres of land worth Rs 100 crore at Basavanahalli

Mysuru: Following a court order, Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) officials took into possession 5.14 acres of land worth Rs 100 Crore at survey number 118 at Basavanahalli, Kasaba hobli in the city.

According to a press release, it is stated that ” the said land had been acquired by MUDA on December 23, 1991 to develop Vijayanagar second stage. The Authority had even awarded compensation to land owners. However, one Mahadevaiah had moved civil court, but the court ruled in favour of MUDA recently.”

In an early morning operation on Saturday 6 am along with police security, two illegal sheds on the land were demolished and land was taken into MUDA’s possession. A MUDA board was also installed on the land.

In all 47 sites including 11 of 50×80 sites and 36 of 40×60 sites can be developed, the release added.

MUDA Commissioner Dr D B Natesh, Superintendent Engineer Shankar, Land Acquisition Officer Harshavardhan, Executive Engineers Mohan and Satyanarayan Joshi, sonal officers Mahesh, Ravindra Kumar, Kiran, Shivanna, Nagesh and Ravishankar were present.
