Chamarajanagar: “Mr BRT”, the beloved tusker of Biligiriranganathaswamy Temple (BRT) Tiger Reserve was found dead, much to the disappointment of wildlife lovers.
Known for his frequent wanderings around public areas near the Biligiri Ranganathaswamy Hills, Mr BRT was a familiar sight for both locals and visitors alike.
The elephant’s body was found in the Yalandur Kadithalkattr Beat, with early reports indicating that the 50-55-year-old tusker passed away from natural causes.

Dr Wasim Mirza, a veterinarian from the Bandipur Tiger Reserve, conducted the autopsy to confirm the cause of death.
Mr BRT had recently gone viral after being filmed entering the Mayura Biligiri area. His passing has left elephant enthusiasts and locals, particularly those who admired his impressive tusks, mourning his loss.
