MP Yaduveer Wadiyar leads tobacco growers delegation to Union Minister

New Delhi: Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar along with H D Kumaraswamy, Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel, Government of India, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, Youth President of JDS and Harish Gowda, MLA, Hunsur, met
Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.


Together, they joined tobacco growers in New Delhi to address key issues affecting their livelihoods.

During the discussions, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar presented the following concerns on behalf of our hardworking farmers:

The need to encourage buyers to purchase no-grade and low-grade varieties, which have seen an increased yield this season.

A request to shift the Tobacco Board office from Bengaluru to Mysuru for better accessibility and efficiency in addressing farmers’ needs.

An appeal to enhance life insurance coverage for tobacco farmers, ensuring greater security for their families.

A plea for timely compensation from the Tobacco Board to mitigate the losses caused by heavy rains.

This meeting reaffirmed Yaduveer’s commitment to advocate for the welfare of farmers and to work towards sustainable solutions for their challenges.
