MP Prathap Simha files defamation case against KPCC Spokesman M Lakshmana

Mysuru: Mysuru-Kodagu MP Prathap Simha has filed a defamation case against KPCC Spokesperson M Lakshmana at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court Bangalore.
Simha has lodged a private criminal complaint bearing no. 6499/2023 against KPCC spokesperson Lakshmana under Sections 499 and 500 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) for defamatory statements made on 06.07.2023 and another private criminal complaint bearing no. 1391/2024 under Sections 499 and 500 of Indian Penal Code for defamatory statements made on 02.02.2024 before the 32nd Addl.Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court Bangalore.
Thereafter, Court in detail heard the matter on 22.01.2024. The Court on 29.02.2024 at 5.45 pm has sought it fit to take cognisance of the complaint as filed by Pratap Simha.
The Court has registered a Criminal Defamation case against the accused Lakshmana for the offence punishable under Sections 500 of IPC.
