Mysuru: On Weekend Curfew, several snakes were rescued in various parts of the city on Sunday. Most of them were Russell’s Viper, considered as the most venomous among the reptiles.

Snake Suryakeerti rescued all those snakes and released them in natural habitat. ESI Hospital on KRS road, Infosys Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) near Hebbal lake, Hamsa Layout in Srirampura, Bannimantap, near Srinivas theatre, Vijayanagar fourth stage and  Alanahalli were those places where the snakes were found.

Those others rescued included Cobra, Kukri Snake to name a few.

At Infosys STP, a worker had mistook Russell’s Viper for Python.

Suryakeerti who clarified the doubt, explained “how a person in Chamarajanagar lost his life by making a bid to catch it after mistaking it as a Python.”

According to Suryakeerti as the people were at home due to the curbs on account of Curfew, they could spot the snakes either during walk or outside home nearby.

Not less than 10 to 15 calls were received and in some instances, the snakes had made their way before reaching the spot. However over 10 snakes were rescued in the day.

Call Suryakeerti on- 7022042028.
