Mortal remains of Naveen Gyanagowdar reaches Bengaluru; CM, other leaders pay their last respects

Bengaluru: The mortal remains of Naveen Shekarappa Gyanagowdar reached Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru on Monday wee hours.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Haveri MP Shivakumar Udasi, MLC Sageer Ahmed and a host of leaders and officials paid their last respects to the coffin carrying the mortal remains of Naveen.

Naveen is the lone person from India who was killed in shelling due to ongoing Russia-Ukraine war at Kharkiv on March 1. He was pursuing medical education in Ukraine.

A native of Haveri district Naveen is survived by his parents and brother.

Amid grief, the family has decided to donate the body of Naveen to Shamanur Shivashankarappa Institute of Medical Sciences (SSIMS) for the purpose of medical research.
